Royal Challengers Beat Sunrisers Scripting Another IPL 2021 Comeback Story
IPL 2021's sleeves seem to full of comebacks as the Royal Challengers Bangalore defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by six runs from a point where the game looked in control of SRH. Put to bat first, RCB could post only an easily achievable score of 149 runs as, barring Glenn Maxwell and skipper Virat Kohli, no batsman could perform well. While Kohli scored 29-ball 33-run, Maxwell exhibited a shining and responsible knock of 59 runs off 41 deliveries. Interestingly, this was Maxwell's first half-century since IPL 2016 edition. Although SRH also witnesses a not-so-good start, innings of captain David Warner (54 runs) and Manish Pandey (38 runs) took the team into a comfortable position. However, the match turned upside down in 17th over when SRH needed just 35 runs of 24 balls with 7 wickets in hand. In the over, RCB's Shahbaz Ahmed dismissed threats of Bairstow (12), Manish Pandey (38) and Abdul Samad (0), putting Challengers back to the driving seats. Later, SRH succumbed to the pressure at 143/9, facing two consecutive defeats.
