Youth-Run Bangalore NGO Hamara Trust Brings Smiles On Needy Faces
With a belief of ‘Not all of us can do great things, but we can do small things with great love’, Bangalore-based youth-run NGO Hamara Charitable and Welfare Trust has been helping the lives of several families in the pandemic situation. The NGO, with a motto ‘your change can change lives’, is currently supporting roughly 15 families every month by supplying them with ration, medicines and education. Started by a group of friends who volunteered with other NGO’s to facilitate humanitarian help to the needy, the Hamara Trust now has a team of 15 people with around 150 benefactors. However, in the pursuit of humanitarianism, the all-youth NGO members also have to maintain the balance between their academics and running a NGO. One of the trust members said, "The smiles our team is greeted with and content feeling of accomplishment after every project is what motivates our drive." Though the trust was started in September 2019 with just two heads, they have extended help to over 100 families and have fed about 1000 people. Another representative said, "The Hamara Trust wishes more students to join us and experience the joy of giving."
