James Michael Tyler AKA Gunther From 'Friends' Passes Away At 59
James Michael Tyler, who portrayed Gunther, the coffee shop manager on the iconic sitcom "Friends," passed away at the age of 59 on October 24. Tyler died at his Home In Los Angeles following a long battle with prostate cancer, which he was diagnosed with in 2018. Tyler has also appeared in a variety of other TV shows, including "Scrubs," "Sabrina the Teenage Witch," and "Modern Music."

$4.9 Billion Loss To Philips; Claims Essential Memory Chip Shortage
Amsterdam-based Technological company Philips said on October 23, the sales have dropped to 7.6 percent losing $4.9 billion as a shortage of electronic components such as memory chips which are hampering the production and supply. Globally China dominates as a chip manufacturing, but however, due to increased demand and reduction in supply, several companies are getting affected including the healthcare technological supplier Philips.

5 Hours Of Physical Activity In A Week Can Prevent Cancer: Study
The study published in the journal 'Medicine and Science in Sports and Exercise' found that more than 46,000 cancer cases in the US may be avoided if Americans do moderate-intensity exercise five hours per week. Reportedly, physical inactivity was responsible for 3% of all cancer diagnoses in individuals aged 30 or older in the US from 2013 to 2016. However, women were found more vulnerable than males.

Cancer Patients May Live Longer If Given Anti-nausea Drug: Study
At the ANESTHESIOLOGY 2021 annual meeting, the findings of a new study said if an anti-nausea drugs such as dexamethasone, given to patients with breast, pancreatic, and certain other types of cancer during the surgery, they may live longer. 'Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah' actor Ghanshyam Nayak known as Nattu Kaka passed away in Mumbai on October 3. Reportedly, Nayak was 76 and had been ailing with cancer. ''I got the news first as his son called me at 5:45 PM,'' said Tanmay Vekeria aka Bagga his companion at the show. Besides, Nayak's fans and other casts of his show are extremely sad over his death.

Singer Mark Hoppus Is Cancer-Free; Diagnosed With stage 4
Blink-182's Mark Hoppus is now cancer-free. The musician took to Instagram to share his health update that reads, "just saw my oncologist and I'm cancer-free! Thank you, God and universe and friends and family and everyone who sent support and kindness and love." He was diagnosed earlier this year with stage 4 diffuse large B-cell lymphoma. Though he has to get scanned every six months and needs time to recover.

Tale Of Jaipur's 'Jayant Kandoi'; Who Fought Cancer 6 Times
Jayant Kandoi, a 23-year-old Ajmer-based man has fought cancer six times in the past few years. Kandoi was first diagnosed with cancer in 2013. He appeared for his class 10 board exam and became the class topper after beating cancer for the first time. "I have had to deal with cancer six times and each time a new body part was impacted. Today, I give motivational talks," Kandoi said.

Study Finds 7.4 Lakh Cancer Cases Worldwide Owing To Alcohol Consumption
A global study predicted that alcohol consumption has allegedly caused over 7.4 lakh cancer cases across the world in 2020. Reportedly, 4% of the total number of cancer cases is associated with alcohol consumption. The study reported that 77% of men suffered from cancer as compared to 23% of women owing to alcohol consumption. Breast, liver, and oesophagus cancers contributed to the largest number of cases.

Traces Of Benzene That Causes Cancer Found In J&J Sunscreens
Johnson & Johnson (J&J) on July 14 said it will recall five of its sunscreen products after benzene, a cancer-causing agent, was detected in its samples. "We voluntarily decided to recall them out of an abundance of caution," J&J said in a statement. Investigations are underway to find out how these chemicals were used in the products. Meanwhile, J&J has requested to stop the usage of the five sunscreens immediately.

Tim Southee Auctions Jersey To Raise Funds For 8-Year-Old's Cancer Treatment
New Zealand pacer Tim Southee on June 29, announced to auction his jersey from World Test Championship finale. The action aims at raising funds for an eight-year-old Hollie Beattie, who has been diagnosed with a rare form of cancer called neuroblastoma since 2018. Southee made the announcement through his Instagram, and said that the shirt will carry signatures of New Zealand’s WTC winning squad.
