Amsterdam-based Technological company Philips said on October 23, the sales have dropped to 7.6 percent losing $4.9 billion as a shortage of electronic components such as memory chips which are hampering the production and supply. Globally China dominates as a chip manufacturing, but however, due to increased demand and reduction in supply, several companies are getting affected including the healthcare technological supplier Philips.

At the ANESTHESIOLOGY 2021 annual meeting, the findings of a new study said if an anti-nausea drugs such as dexamethasone, given to patients with breast, pancreatic, and certain other types of cancer during the surgery, they may live longer. Blink-182's Mark Hoppus is now cancer-free. The musician took to Instagram to share his health update that reads, "just saw my oncologist and I'm cancer-free! Thank you, God and universe and friends and family and everyone who sent support and kindness and love." He was diagnosed earlier this year with stage 4 diffuse large B-cell lymphoma. Though he has to get scanned every six months and needs time to recover.

A global study predicted that alcohol consumption has allegedly caused over 7.4 lakh cancer cases across the world in 2020. Reportedly, 4% of the total number of cancer cases is associated with alcohol consumption. The study reported that 77% of men suffered from cancer as compared to 23% of women owing to alcohol consumption. Breast, liver, and oesophagus cancers contributed to the largest number of cases. 

New Zealand pacer Tim Southee on June 29, announced to auction his jersey from World Test Championship finale. The action aims at raising funds for an eight-year-old Hollie Beattie, who has been diagnosed with a rare form of cancer called neuroblastoma since 2018. Southee made the announcement through his Instagram, and said that the shirt will carry signatures of New Zealand’s WTC winning squad.
