Child Marriage

A 10-year-old was allegedly married to her rapist on February 16 and then given triple-talaq in Uttar Pradesh's Muzaffarnagar. The incident came into light after the minor reached out to the child care helpline whose representative went to counsel the child and handed over the case to the police on August 6. Reportedly, the crime was committed by the brother-in-law of the victim's sister. Budhana police have begun the investigation.
