CPI-M Leader Shivaji Patnaik Passes Away At 92

CPI-M leader and former MP Shivaji Patnaik passed away on May 23. The 92-years-old, and was admitted to a private hospital, after the potassium level in his blood dropped. The news of Patnaik's demise was confirmed by CPI-M Secretary Ali Kishore Patnaik. Highlighting Shivaji's political career, he was elected to the Lok Sabha from Bhubaneswar in 1977, 1989, and 1991. He is survived by his wife, three sons, and a daughter.

A 21-year-old student from Kerala is all set to be the youngest Mayor of the nation. CPI(M)'s Arya Rajendran, a Mathematics student, has been selected to lead the Thiruvananthapuram Municipal Corporation by the party's high command.
