2 Hippos Test Positive For Covid-19 In Belgium's Antwerp Zoo
In Belgium's Antwerp Zoo, two hippos have been tested positive for Covid-19, said Francis Vercammen, the zoo's vet. The two hippos namely Imani and Hermein, are aged 14 and 41, respectively. The Hippos have been quarantined after they showed a symptom of runny nose. ''To my knowledge, this is the first time in this species globally,'' added Vercammen. Also, zookeepers haven't shown any symptoms of the virus so far.

Make Rules For Species Not Covered Under WPA, 1972: Delhi HC
The Delhi High Court has asked the central government to frame rules for exotic species that are not protected under the Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972. Filed by animal rights group 'PETA', the plea sought a status for a rescued hippopotamus. Moreover, the court directed the authorities to permanently keep the hippo in a Jamnagar facility. Reportedly, the hippo was found in poor health from an Asiad circus.
