After the Supreme Court (SC) issued notice to Udhayanidhi Stalin, over Sanatan Dharam remark, Tollywood actor Kamal Haasan extended support. He said, "Young child" is being targeted today as he had spoken about Sanatana Dharma. The actor further said it's nothing new, in the past also, several political leaders have shared their remarks on Sanatana Dharma. He also added the BJP might use it as a convenience for 2024 elections.

Kamal Haasan's Car Allegedly Banged By Man After Public Meeting
Actor-turned-politician Kamal Haasan's car was allegedly banged by a man on March 14 when the actor was proceeding to Chennai for a public rally to gather support for his party Makkal Needhi Maiam. The incident took place in Tamil Nadu’s Kancheepuram district. Reportedly, the drunk man was assaulted by the supporters of the party and later admitted to a hospital. However, police said he meant no harm to Haasan as he was only a fan.

TN Polls: MNM Founder Kamal Haasan To Contest From Coimbatore South
Tamil Nadu's nascent Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) will field its chief actor-politician Kamal Haasan in the Coimbatore South assembly constituency for the state elections. Earlier, on March 10, the party had revealed its first list of 70 candidates while announcing plans to contest 154 of the total 234 seats. Further, the party formed a coalition with actor Sarath Kumar's All India Samathuva Makkal Katchi and the India Jananayaka Katchi.

Tamil Nadu: Kamal Haasan's MNM Party's Vice President Joins BJP
Supporting the Centre's farm laws, Makkal Needhi Maiam's (MNM) vice-president A Arunachalam joined the BJP on December 25. Arunachalam cited Kamal Haasan's refusal to support the farm laws as reason behind leaving the MNM. He said he could “no longer exist in a party which acts against the welfare of the farmers”. Arunachalam also expressed his happiness for joining the BJP on the birth anniversary of late former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

Kamal Haasan Objects To Centre's Move Of New Parliament Construction
Actor and Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) party chief Kamal Haasan called out PM Modi on December 13 regarding the new parliament construction. In his tweet, Haasan questioned the need for the Rs 1,000 crore building "when half of India is hungry". Moreover, he also highlighted the "loss of livelihoods" during the coronavirus pandemic. Kamal's digs at PM Modi came ahead of his campaign for Tamil Nadu Assembly Polls in 2021.
