Gujarat: Somnath Temple Trust Names PM Narendra Modi As Chairman
The Somnath Temple Trust, Gujarat on January 18 unanimously announced PM Narendra Modi as its chairman. The trust secretary PK Laheri said that the decision was taken after seeing PM Modi's "unparalleled" commitment towards the development of the Somnath Shrine. Former Gujarat CM Keshubhai Patel Dies Of Cardiac Arrest At 92
Former Gujarat CM and veteran BJP leader Keshubhai Patel passed away of cardiac arrest at 92 on October 29. Reportedly, he had complained of difficulty in breathing, following which he was admitted to a hospital in Ahmedabad. He served Gujarat as a CM in 1995 and 1998-2001. Elected as a member of legislative assembly for six times, Patel had also created his own party, 'Gujarat Parivartan Party', in 2012.
