Lockdown in Maharashtra Extended till October 31
Maharashtra Government has extended the lockdown in the state till October 31. However, the state has provided certain relaxations. Restaurants will be allowed to resume dine-in services with 50% occupancy, starting October 5. Covid-19 Restrictions to Extend till October 31 in Tamil Nadu
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister K. Palaniswami, on September 29, announced the extension of Covid-19 restrictions till October 31. Classes for Class 10, 11 and 12, which were supposed to re-open from October 1 will be closed until further notice. However, the restrictions have been eased for restaurants and movie shoots for upto 100 people will be allowed. The announcement also allowed 100 domestic flights to land in Chennai, per day.

Maharashtra: Biomedical Wastes Surge While Environment Parameters Improve
Maharashtra Pollution Control Board (MPCB) reported an unusual rise by 45% in biomedical waste, during the pandemic. However, the air parameters improved by 60% and biochemical oxygen demand recovered by nearly 80%. The collection and disposal of biomedical-waste was also doubled.
