Eknath Shinde Led Maha Govt To Withdraw Maharashtra Public University Act Amendments
The Shinde-Fadnavis led Maharashtra Government decided to withdraw the amendments to the Maharashtra Public Universities Act, 2016 made during the Maha-Vikas-Aghadi (MVA) Government. In the amendments, the Governor’s powers were curtailed in the appointment of vice-chancellors of the universities as the names were to be suggested by the government-appointed search committee which in turn will forward two names to the Governor.
