Punjab & Haryana HC: Muslim Girls Can Marry Of Their Own Free Will At 16
Punjab and Haryana High Court on June 20 declared that a Muslim girl above the age of 16 is eligible to enter into a marriage contract with a person of her preference citing Sharia Law. The ruling was issued in response to petition filed by Pathankot-based Muslim couple aged 16 and 21 years seeking protection from court. The court has ordered the SSP Pathankot to provide the couple with security.

40 Muslim Students Abstain From Appearing For PU Exam In Karnataka: Hijab Row
In Karnataka's Udupi region, 40 Muslim girl students who were hurt by the Karnataka HC's decision to not allow wearing hijabs in institutions, abstained from appearing for the first pre-university examination.
