With an aim to improve transparency and digitalise the process of availing scholarships and incentives, the Odisha government on October 28 launched two new online portals. Odisha Takes the Initiative to Teach Students Through Radio, From September 28
Odisha Government decided to teach the students from standard 1-8 via radio, through 'Radio Pathshala' programme. According to the State Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash, the programme will begin from September 28 and will be broadcasted at 10 AM to 10:15 AM on weekdays. Reportedly, the programme which will conduct two classes a day, will run across the state and will be uploaded on the Diksha website and app as well.

Odisha: Woman Beats Son's 14-year-old Friend To Death
A woman killed his son's 14-year-old friend for allegedly stealing Rs 500. The incident took place in Kiapanoposhi village in Mayurbhanj district of Odisha. According to police, the victim, Rajan Behra who is a student of class 7, was beaten to death with a stick by the accused Sasmita Behera. Reportedly, the police have arrested the woman, and have registered a case of murder against her.

Odisha: BJP MPs Accuse the State Govt of Mismanagement of Food Grains
Odisha BJP MPs have requested Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan to initiate an enquiry into "mismanagement of food grains" approved under PM Garib Kalyan Yojana (PMGKY) to the state government. They alleged that there was a gap between those who were sanctioned food grains and those who actually received it. This gap has deprived lakhs of eligible and needy people in the state, especially migrant workers, they opined.
