Cab service provider Ola's social hand Ola Foundation, in association with online donation platform GiveIndia, will provide free oxygen concentrators to COVID-19 patients. DGGI Initiates Probe Against Ola, Uber Over GST Evasion

Ola To Set Up E-scooter Factory In Tamil Nadu, Invest Rs 2,400 Crore

Cab aggregator Ola's CEO Bhavish Aggarwal has announced to invest Rs 2,400 crore for establishing a manufacturing plant for its subsidiary, 'Ola Electric', in Tamil Nadu. The plant will have an initial annual capacity of two million units. Touted to be the biggest e-scooter factory in the state, the plant aims to create 10,000 jobs. "This will be one of the most advanced manufacturing facilities in the world," said Bhavish.

Joint Committee Of Parliament To Question Telcos and Cab Aggregators

Following the trail of the social media companies, the telecom operators and cab aggregators will also be questioned by the Joint Committee of Parliament on 'Data Protection Bill'. London City Authorities Cancel Ola's Operating Licence

Citing that its app was not "fit and proper", authorities of London city have cancelled the operating licence of Ola. Transport for London (TfL) said that Ola did not adhere to the public safety regulations. Reportedly, TfL found Ola drivers without licence undertaking over 1000 passenger trips. However, it added that Ola can appeal against the decision in 21 days. The Bengaluru-based Ola began operations in London from February 2020.

Delhi: Ola, Uber Drivers on Strike; Demand Extension of Loan Moratorium

Almost two lakh Ola and Uber drivers began a strike on September 1 in Delhi-NCR demanding a fare hike and extension of the moratorium on loan repayment. Kamaljeet Singh Gill, president of Sarvodaya Drivers Association of Delhi said that drivers are scared that banks will tow away their vehicles for not paying EMIs as the moratorium ended on August 31. Gill mentioned that they had already requested the government once.
