India Records Decline In SO2 Emission; Use Of Renewable Energy A Cause
According to data by Centre for Research on Energy and Clean Air (CREA) and Greenpeace, India has recorded a dip in Sulphur-di-oxide (SO2) emission. The emissions have reduced by 6% in 2019 as against the 2018, and experts predict that the trend will continue. Reportedly, India's use of renewable energy and decreased consumption of coal have caused the decline. However, India still contributes 21% of the world's SO2 emission.
