Tapan Kumar Deka To Replace Arvind Kumar As Director Of Intelligence Bureau
Tapan Kumar Deka, 1988-batch IPS officer from Himachal cadre, has been appointed as the director of the Intelligence Bureau (IB). Deka will replace current IB chief Arvind Kumar, after the end of his tenure on June 30. Reportedly, the government has selected Deka over other senior officers, going with "merit over seniority". Furthermore, Deka has been monitoring terrorists and religious radicalization for the past two decades.
