Union Minister Vaishnaw Announces Rs 2 Crore For Villages Near Balasore Train Accident

Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on June 20, visited the Bahanaga Bazaar, a small station in Balasore district of Odisha where one of India's deadliest train accident happened recently. " I have come to thank the people of Bahanaga village," said Vaishnaw. He also announced Rs 2 crores for development of Bahanaga Village and Bahanaga Hospital, which accommodated injured during the tragic triple train accident.

PM Modi Meets District Heads; Assures To Ramp Up COVID Vaccine Supply

Virtually meeting with 46 district magistrates from nine states on May 18, PM Narendra Modi said 'continuous efforts are being made to increase the supply of COVID vaccines on a large scale.' PM Modi urged the DMs to suggest changes in policies and allowed them to innovate policies according to the district's requirements. An action plan is underway to give the schedule of 15 days to the states, he added.

25K+ Villages Lack Internet & Mobile Connectivity, Minister Reveals

The Communication Ministry has notified that among 5.97 lakh villages in the country, nearly 25,000 villages still lack cellular or internet connection.
