West Bengal Government Revises Price Structure Of Liquor
After requests from the Confederation of Indian Alcoholic Beverage Companies (CIABC), the West Bengal government has restructured the pricing scheme for alcohol retailers. Gujarat: Ex-CM Urges State to Remove Liquor Ban; Launches Online Campaign
To oppose the liquor ban in the state, former Gujarat CM Shankersinh Vagela has initiated a campaign on social media. He launched 'Against Liquor Ban Challenge' campaign on Twitter. He said that though liquor is banned, it is available in many parts of the state at a higher price and black marketers were making money. He opined that if the ban was lifted, this money would reach the state treasury.

Police Seizes Banned Gutka Worth Rs 11 Lakh in Andhra Pradesh
Banned gutka worth Rs 11 lakh was seized on August 16 by the Chandarlapadu police in Andhra Pradesh. Nandigama DSP Ramana Murty said that after receiving the "credible information", Chandarlapadu police were informed who further tracked the vehicle carrying banned gutka. Besides, 4Kg of cannabis and 25 liquor bottles were also seized. According to the official, four accused have been arrested, and vehicles have been seized as well.
