Textbook Row: Karnataka Govt Disbands Textbook Review Committee
Amid a controversy over textbook revisions, the Textbook review committee has been dissolved by the Karnataka state government, in June 4. CM Basavaraj Bommai said that the committee has been disbanded since its designated work has been concluded. CM Bommai further stated that a chapter on Kempe Gowda, founder of Bangalore, has been added. The committee was headed by Chakrathirtha and examined and revised the school textbooks.

Measures On Textbook Review Dispute To Be based On Education Minister's Report: K'taka CM
Basavaraj Bommai, the Chief Minister of Karnataka, stated on May 31 that the education minister's report will be used to determine how to proceed with the textbook review debate. The new Kannada and social science textbooks for Class X students, according to a group of prophets, have corrupted the ideas of social reformer Basavanna. The prophets also said that the review committee insulted poet Kuvempu's state anthem.

Senior IAS officer Vandita Sharma has been appointed as the Karnataka chief secretary, by CM Basavaraj Bommai. Sharma will take the office following the retirement of P Ravi Kumar, on May 31. Govt Softwares To Soon Have Kannada Templates, Says CM Bommai: E-Kannada Project
Softwares related to state government will soon contain templates in Kannada, said Karnataka CM Basavaraj Bommai. He said that the language Kannada must synergise with technology to evolve ahead. Speaking a function to launch e-Kannada project, he said, "it is heartening to note that many softwares are now available in Kannada." He further stated that the language should be developed to cater to the needs of Kannadigas.

PSI Scam: 10 Police Personnel Suspended In Karnataka
About ten police personnel were suspended by Commissioner of Police, Kalaburagi, YS Ravikumar, on May 8, in connection to the Police Sub-Inspector (PSI) scam. The move has come after CM Bommai assured an impartial probe into the matter. The results were cancelled on April 29, due to corruption allegations. Furthermore, main accused, BJP leader Divya Hagaragi who was absconding, and four others have been arrested.

PSI Scam: Siddaramiah Demands Dismissal Of Karnataka CM Bommai
Former Karnataka CM Siddaramiah accused the BJP-led government of alleged involvement in the Police Sub-Inspector (PSI) scam. He said that the PSI scam is worth Rs 300 crore, and that he doesn't have "faith in the state's crime investigation". Hence, he requested for a judicial probe into the matter. Furthermore, he also demanded for the immediate dismissal of CM Basavaraj Bommai and state Home Minister Araga Jnanendra.
