Severe Rainfall In Mumbai, Surrounding Areas; IMD Issues Alert
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned of moderate to intense rainfall in Mumbai and surrounding areas of Palghar, Thane, and Raigad on July 21. According to IMD, various districts like Navi Mumbai, and Thane have been issues an Orange alert, while Mumbai is on the Yellow alert. Different parts of the city have faced waterlogging after continuous rainfall for over a week.

Centre Likely To Table 23 Bills In Upcoming Parliament Session
The Centre will likely table 23 bills, in the upcoming monsoon session scheduled to commence on July 19. A mix of the existing and new bills are expected to be introduced. Out of the 23 bills, the DNA Technology Bill, The Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (Amendment) Bill 2021, and The Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens (Amendment) Bill, 2019 will be introduced.

Karnataka: Land Reforms (Amendment) Act Passed; Opposition Criticises Move
Karnataka State Assembly on September 26 passed the 'Karnataka Land Reforms Act (Amendment) Bill 2020'. Gujarat Govt Says Unable to Furnish Data On 'Atmanirbhar Gujarat Sahay Yojana'
Gujarat government informed in the state assembly that it was unable to furnish data regarding the usage of Rs 14,022 crore under 'Atmanirbhar Gujarat Sahay Yojana'. Gujarat Passes Bill to Prevent Land Grabbing; Introduces Jail Term Of 10 Years
Gujarat Assembly on September 24 unanimously passed a bill that prohibits land grabbing in the state. Under The Gujarat Land Grabbing (Prohibition) Bill, 2020, land grabbers will incur a jail term of minimum ten years, which may extend up to 14 years. Besides, the accused will bear the burden of proving not guilty. Bill also proposes to set up a special court for fast trials of such cases.

Gujarat Assembly Passes Bill To Increase Fine On People Employing Children

Karnataka: Legislators to Take a 30% Salary Cut to Boost State Revenue

Karnataka Assembly Session Cut Down to 6 Days; Only Important Bills to Be Taken
Karnataka government has decided to cut down the state assembly's monsoon session to six days owing to the pandemic. The session which started on September 21 was skipped by over 60 MLAs. Notably, seven ministers, including Deputy CM and Home Minister, are currently under quarantine. Odisha: Speaker Takes Stock of Arrangements for Assembly's Monsoon Session
