China Likely To Witness Typhoons In August

The Chinese weather department and natural disaster department alerted the nation of typhoons. After continuous rainfall and loss of lives in Beijing, Northeast China and other regions. On August 2, the National Commission for Disaster Reduction under the Ministry of Emergency Management said, in August there will be four to six typhoons affecting the region. People in China are advised to be cautious and alerted of the upcoming disaster.

Of other challenges, the immediate one is to restore electricity for 300 villages and clearing roads, blocked with uprooted trees and others.

Tsunami Alert Issues After Earthquake In New Caledonia

A tsunami warning was triggered by an earthquake of magnitude 7.7 that struck southeast of Loyalty Islands in New Caledonia, authorities said. The United States Geological Survey (USGS) said the quake hit at a depth of 10 km (6.21 miles). As per sources, it triggered a warning of a possible tsunami for the areas of New Caledonia, Fiji, and Vanuatu, the U.S. tsunami warning system said.

Regions of Nicobar Island and Mizoram witnessed a slight earthquake, in the wee hours of April 11.  Occurred at 2:46 AM, the earthquake magnitude was of 4.6, at a depth of 32 km, confirmed sources. The National Centre of Siesmology tweeted, "Earthquake of Magnitude:4.6 occurred on 10-04-2023, 02:26:02 IST, Lat: 8.98 and Long: 94.07, Depth: 32 Km , Location: 220km N of Campbell Bay, Nicobar island."

An earthquake of magnitude 4.3 jolted Afghanistan on September 23, confirmed to the National Centre for Seismology. The earthquake occurred in Hindu Kush Region around 5:30 AM, on September 23 morning, in Afghanistan. This is the second such earthquake happened in the past 20 days.
