Three Jointly Awarded Nobel Prize in Medicine for Discovery of Hepatitis-C Virus
The Nobel Assembly at Karolinska Institute, Sweden, awarded the 2020 Nobel Prize in Medicine to three researchers for the discovery of Hepatitis - C Virus. Afghan Leader Fawzia Koofi Leads In Nobel Peace Prize Nominations
Fawzia Koofi, a negotiator for the 'Doha talks with Taliban', has been primed for this years' Nobel Peace Prize. Along with her three other sisters, Koofi has been an essential part of the negotiation. Koofi stated that the nomination itself is a "big victory for women in Afghanistan." With her brother and father killed by Taliban regime, Afghanistan’s first women Deputy Speaker, Koofi, has escaped two assassination attempts as well.

Nobel Prize Money Increased to 10 Million Crowns
The prize money for the prestigious Nobel Prizes has been raised this year by 1 million crowns ($110, 000), taking the total amount to 10 million crowns. The Nobel Foundation said this was done due to the stable condition of its cost and capital. The prize money has continued to rise since the awards’ inception in 1901, except for a cut down of 2 million crowns in 2012.

US President Donald Trump Nominated for Nobel Peace Prize
United States President Donald Trump on September 9 was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize 2021. The nomination was made by Norwegian politician Christian Tybring-Gjedde.
