Parliament Session

PM Narendra Modi addressed the Parliament and replied to the motion of thanks of President Draupadi Murmu on February 8. In his speech, PM Modi said, "Some people are living for themselves and their families, but Modi is living for the people of India. Some people are destroying India for their families. 140 crore people of India are Narendra Modi's safety armour." He also criticised the opposition Congress.

The Central Government distances itself from the ongoing Hindenburg and Adani Groups issue, in the ongoing Lok Sabha parliament session. On February 3, the opposition raised the issue of Adani Groups' accounting fraud and demanded a probe. Reacting to the statements, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi said, "opposition is raising the issue because they have no other issue to raise." According to the media reports, NDTV objected to parliament's act of denying journalist Sunil Prabhu the pass for covering Parliamentary sessions for the last two consecutive sessions. The media house claimed that Prabhu did not receive any reason for the ban. However, few journalists believe that the "COVID-19 pandemic has been used as an excuse to limit the number of media personnel entering parliament".
