A 28-year-old man was killed and three others were wounded when a speeding car swerved onto the pavement in Bengaluru on May 20. Rudrappa alias Suresh Kumar, of Bellur village in Shivamogga district, has been identified as the dead. The force of the collision threw one of them into the air, while another was trapped between two automobiles. The authorities assume the accident was caused by lack of sleep.

In Karnataka, Harsha, a 26-year-old Bajrang Dal Activist has been murdered on the night of February 20. Amid the murder incident in Shivamogga, vehicles were burnt, ruckus created in the area, following which tight security has been arranged and fire-brigades were called. Massive explosion at Railway’s boulder crushing facility in Karnataka's Shivamogga district on January 21 killed eight people.
