Protesting Farmers At Delhi Border Burn Copies Of Farm Laws On Lohri
On the occasion of Lohri, a popular harvest festival in Punjab, the protesting farmers at the Delhi border burnt copies of the Centre's farm laws. The farmer associations had also printed and distributed lakhs of copies of the contentious laws across villages and districts of Punjab and Haryana. A protestor at Singhu border said, “By doing this, we want to exert pressure on the Centre to take back these farm laws.”

Kerala: Pineapple Growers Sent 20 Tons Of Fruit To Delhi Protestors

Protesting Farmers At Singhu Border Start Cleaning Drains Themselves
Some protesting farmers at the Singhu border have signed up to clean the drains along the protest site. The free-flowing drains were clogged with disposables and leftover food until a group of eight farmer started cleaning the whole 10-km stretch of protest site. "Since this road is our home now, it was upon us to clean it" said a protestor. Reportedly, since December 23, they have cleaned up to 400 metres of the drain.

62-year-old Punjab Woman Drives Jeep To Reach Farmers' Protest Site
A photo related to the ongoing farmers' protest has become viral, wherein a 62-year-old woman can be seen driving a jeep en route to Singhu border, Delhi. Reportedly, the woman, Manjit Kaur, was driving from Patiala to the protest site and was accompanied by three more women. The photo was shared by Kisan Ekta Morcha's Twitter handle with a caption, "They are all in high spirits."

Farmers' Protest: Police Install Heaters In Tents To Tackle Cold
The Delhi Police have installed gas heaters and coffee machines in the tents of the security personnel deployed at farmers' protest site at the Singhu and Tikri borders. It has also arranged water canons to tackle any fire-related accidents. While keeping round-the-clock vigil, the 4,000 security personnel also take two-hour breaks on rotational basis. Sikh Priest Commits Suicide Over Misery Of Protesting Farmers
In a first casualty that can be linked to the ongoing farmers' protest, a Haryana-based Sikh priest shot himself on December 16. The priest, Sant Ram Singh, took this drastic step near Delhi's Singhu border and cited the farmers' misery as reason. "I'm unable to witness the pain of the farmers. I can't bear this sadness," he wrote in his suicide letter. He added that his suicide was a voice against the government's oppression.

Farmers' Protest: Volunteers Set Up Gyms, Massage Centre At Borders
The farm law-protestors can avail fitness facilities as mini gyms and massage centres have been set up at the Singhu and Tikri borders. Volunteers of the 'Khalsa Aid' organization have installed 25 'calf and leg massage' machines in their camps that saw protestors line-up for a 10-minute session each. Moreover, professional weightlifters and sportsmen from Punjab have installed makeshift gyms capable of hosting seven people at once.

Delhi Police Accused Of Putting CM Kejriwal Under House Arrest
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Saurabh Bharadwaj has alleged that Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal has been put under house arrest due to his visit to the Delhi-Haryana border on December 7. Bharadwaj also claimed that the police had beaten those MLAs who went to meet the Delhi CM at his residence. He added that BJP leaders were positioned outside the CM residence.
