British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss is leading the race to replace Boris Johnson as UK's next Prime Minister. Of the two contenders, Liz Truss and Rishi Sunak, Truss is heading the race by 90%, confirmed a local survey by Smarkets. Notably, released on August 1, the chances of Liz Truss has 90.0% winning chances. The leadership race was triggered after Johnson was forced to step down on July 7.

UK PM Leadership Election Down To 4 Contenders
After the third round of voting finished on July 18, four candidates advanced to the next vote round in the campaign to be the leader of the Conservative Party and succeed outgoing United Kingdom Prime Minister Boris Johnson. Rishi Sunak (115 votes), Penny Mordaunt (82 votes), Liz Truss (71 votes), and Kemi Badenoch (71 votes) are the four survivors (58 votes). The winner will be revealed on September 5.

UK Foreign Secretary Liz Truss Announces Her Candidacy For Prime Minister
With Home Secretary Priti Patel perhaps announcing her candidacy, Foreign Secretary Liz Truss has formally entered the contest for the Tory leadership. Foreign Office minister Rehman Chishti has also entered the race, bringing the total to 11 Conservatives seeking to replace Boris Johnson as Prime Minister. UK Political Crisis: Boris Johnson Steps Down As Prime Minister Of UK
Boris Johnson resigned as the leader of Britain's Conservative Party, on July 7. He will also pave way for a new Prime Minister to be elected. Johnson however, will serve as the Prime Minister till a new leader is elected. This has come after over 50 lawmakers resigned. A new PM is expected to replace Johnson in the early October.
