Referendum To Decide Future Of Same Sex Marriages In Switzerland
Among the few Western-European-nations that still prohibit gay marriage, Switzerland will hold a vote to decide the legal status of same-sex marriage and foster children on September 26. Swiss Parliament and the federal government have accepted the law but the opposition has demanded a referendum on the subject. Married lesbian couples can have children through artificial insemination, which is currently permitted only for married heterosexual couples.
