Assam Govt Demands Fresh NRC Verification, Holds Meeting
Assam CM Hemant Biswa asked for fresh National Register of Citizens (NRC) of Assam people, as over lakhs of people left out in the state. In regard to this, the state government held meeting with the All Assam Student Union (AASU). This is the second time, Assam government emphasized on the need of fresh NRC list, after re-verification. Recently, the state government also asked to move SC, demanding new NRC.

Assam's Student Union To Organize Protests During PM Modi's Visit
Assam's student organization AASU has said that it will hold protests on February 22, the day on which PM Narendra Modi will be visiting the state. The All Assam Students Union (AASU) has alleged that the Centre has deceived Assamese people by not implementing Clause 6 of the Assam Accord.
