Guinness World record-holding art 'The Journey of Humanity' by British artist Sacha Jafri, has been sold for $62 million in an auction in Dubai. In an expensive purchase, a Chinese citizen has bought a bird for a whopping $1.9 million in Belgium. The anonymous buyer has spend the sum that is equivalent to Rs 14 crore to purchase a female racing pigeon, named 'New Kim'. Reportedly, the bird is two years old and is an excellent racer. The previous record for costliest sale was held by a pigeon, Armando, which was sold for 1.25 million euros.

William Shakespeare's first collection of plays printed in 1623 was sold for $9.97M at Christie's auction in New York city on October 14. The auction has set a new record for a work of literature. American private collector, Stephen Loewentheil purchased the First Folio, as the collection is popularly known, containing 36 plays. The Odisha Government requested the Central Government on September 22, to postpone the auction of coal blocks by at least three months. The letter, addressed to Union Coal Minister Prahlad Joshi, stated that the market value of coal has seen a dip, owing to the pandemic and an auction during such a time will adversely affect the state revenue. The e-auction of 41 coal mines is scheduled between October 19- November 9.
