Breast Cancer Rises 50% In Women In India Between 35-50 Years: Report

The reporting case of breast cancer cases in women between 35-50 years in India rose to 50% in the last three years, said the Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals' doctors in Delhi on October 22. 53% of women were found in the initial stages of cancer, 47% are in advanced stages, 20% in stage 4, and 27% in stage 3. Reportedly, alcohol and oral contraceptives could increase the risk of cancer.

Woman Diagnosed With Polymastia After Lactating Milk From Armpit

Breast Cancer Becomes Most Common Type Of Cancer, Warns WHO

Breast cancer has become the most deadly form of the disease killing thousands every year, stated WHO oncologist Andre Ilbawi. Andre also cited obesity as a common cause for breast cancer in women. Speaking ahead of the World Cancer Day on February 4, Andre expressed concerns that cancer might rise to about 30 million fresh cases per year in 2040. Around 19.3 million cases were reported globally in 2020.

Most Indians Aware About Breast Cancer, Ready to Seek Help: Study

According to a study released by Nanavati Super Speciality Hospital, only 45% of the 464 participants were either unaware about breast cancer or had limited information about it. However, 80% of the total participants said they will seek medical help willingly if they witness any symptoms of the disease. Positively, around 60% of the participants knew about the self examination and only 10% reported family history of breast cancer.
