AAP Wins 32 Assembly Seats, Leads In Over 59 Seats In Punjab 2022 Elections
Arvind Kejriwal's AAP is winning in major seats against prominent leaders of the BJP and the Congress. AAP CM candidate Bhagwant Mann and leaders like Gurmeet khuddian, Labh Singh Ugoke and Jeewan Jyot Kaur, won against the opposition. AAP is now leading in over 59 seats and won a total of 32 seats in Punjab. Furthermore, as per the ECI sources, with the winning trend, AAP would form Punjab Government.

Punjab CM's Nephew Under 14-Day Judicial Custody For Illegal Sand Mining
Ahead of Punjab Assembly elections scheduled on February 20, the nephew of CM Charanjit Singh Channi has been sent into 14-day judicial custody. On February 11, Bhupinder S Honey was accused of illegal sand mining and was arrested by Enforcement Directorate (ED) on February 3. During the raid conducted, ED recovered Rs 10 crore cash, gold worth Rs 21 lakh and a Rolex watch worth Rs 12 lakh.

Rahul Gandhi Reveals Congress CM Face In Punjab: Punjab Assembly Elections
Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi, on February 6, addressed a virtual public meeting from Ludhiana. During the meeting, Gandhi sharing stage with two contenders, Navjot Singh Sidhu and Punjab CM Charanjit Singh Channi, announced Channi to be the Punjab CM face in the 2022 elections, on February 20. While Channi extended gratitude, Navjot Singh accepted Rahul Gandhi's decision and said will work for the party.

Punjab CM's Nephew Arrested In Money Laundering Case, Ahead Of Polls

Sonu Sood Wants Charanjit Singh Channi As Congress' CM Face: Punjab
Bollywood actor Sonu Sood campaigned from Moga constituency, ahead of Punjab Assembly elections. Notably, on January 24, Sood extended support to Congress and said, Charanjit Singh Channi should be the "CM face" in Punjab. Addressing the media, Sood said, "I want him to be CM again. He is an amazing human being". Notably, Sonu was campaigning for his sister Malvika Sood, who is contesting from Moga constituency, ahead of polls.

SAD Demands CBI Probe Against Illegal Mining, Alleges CM Channi
Ahead of the Punjab Polls, the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Bikram Singh Majithia, demanded a CBI probe against CM Charanjit Singh Channi. Alleging him of conducting illegal mining in Chamkaur Sahib constituency, Majithia said, "Total loot by Channi in his 111 day tenure will be more than 1,111 crore". Majithia even released audio recordings of CM's close aide Iqbal Singh and his son discussing illegal mining with CM's blessings.

Centre To Begin Paddy Purchase In Punjab and Haryana From Oct 3
Centre, on October 2, decided to start procurement in Punjab and Haryana from October 3. Haryana CM Manohar Lal said, “at many places, protests have been organised demanding early procurement. I hope that the farmers will now stop their protest”. Punjab CM Charanjit Singh Channi also said the Centre has allowed the State to start paddy procurement from October 3.

Punjab CM Urges PM Modi To Resume Talks With Farmers
Punjab CM Charanjit Singh Channi met PM Narendra Modi on October 1, and urged him to resume talks with the farmers protesting against the three agricultural laws. "I asked the PM to resolve the matter of farmers' protest and resume dialogue with the protesting farmers. I demanded that the three laws should be withdrawn," Channi said. This was his first meeting with PM after becoming the Chief Minister.
