Congress Chooses Former Union Minister Margaret Alva As Vice Presidential Candidate
Former Union Minister and veteran Congress member Margaret Alva is the opposition's choice for the position of vice president of India, according to NCP leader Sharad Pawar. "We are all together in this election," Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut said. The NDA's choice for vice president of India was declared by the BJP on July 16 as Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhakhar.

Oscar Fernandes, an accomplished Kuchipudi dancer, former union minister, and veteran Congress leader passed away on September 13. The 80-year-old was quite famous for handling tricky diplomatic situations in the North-East during his ministry. Besides, he was a known confidant of Congress president Sonia Gandhi. Former Union Minister Ajit Singh Passes Away At 82 Due To COVID-19
Former Union Minister and Rashtriya Lok Dal Chief Ajit Singh died of COVID-19 at 82 on May 6. Singh had tested positive for COVID-19 on April 20 and was admitted to a hospital in Gurugram following a lung infection. PM Narendra Modi, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and several other leaders expressed their grief through Twitter over the veteran leader's death.
