A massive fire broke out in the newly constructed building of Karthikeya hospital in Renigunta, situated in Andhra Pradesh’s Tirupati, on September 25. Two children identified as Siddhartha Reddy (12) and Kartika (6) succumbed to the injuries. The incident reportedly occurred due to an electrical short circuit. Meanwhile, fire tenders rushed to the spot to douse the fire. Further details on the matter are awaited.

Jabalpur Hospital Fire: FIR Filed Against Hospital Manager & 4 Doctors For 'Negligence'
An FIR has been filed against five persons including four doctors, in connection to Jabalpur fire incident in Madhya Pradesh. The manager of New Life multi-speciality hospital and four other doctors have been booked under IPC sections 304, 308 and 334. The provisions pertain to causing hurt and death due to negligence. The incident left at least nine dead, after which, the hospital has been sealed.

Gujarat: Fire At COVID-19 Care Hospital Engulfs Life Of 18 Patients
In a heart-wrenching incident, at least 18 people have lost their life due to a fire at a COVID-19 hospital in Gujarat's Bharuch on May 1. Reportedly, the fire broke out at around 1 AM due to an unknown reason. While some patients were burnt alive on the spot, few succumbed to their injuries later. However, around 50 other patients have been saved by the firefighters and locals.

Maharashtra: Thane Hospital Fire Kills 4, Govt Promises Compensation
In another tragic incident, four patients admitted at a private hospital in Maharashtra's Thane died after a fire broke out in the early hours of April 28. As per sources, none of the patients, including the deceased ones, have contracted COVID-19 and the survivors have been evacuated. The government announced to pay a compensation of Rs 5 lakh to the kin of deceased while Rs one lakh to the injured.

A fire outbreak in the ICU of Virar's Vijay Vallabh COVID Care hospital has killed at least 13 patients in the wee hours of April 23 in Maharashtra. Reportedly, the fire broke out due to a short circuit in the air-conditioning unit. While fire tenders were called to douse off the fire, an eye witness had claimed that the "hospital did not have any fire safety measure like water sprinklers".

Fire At Nagpur Private Hospital Kills 4, Injures Some Others

10 Infants Killed In Fire At Child Care Unit Of Maharashtra Hospital
In a tragic incident, a fire outbreak at 1:30 AM on January 9 killed ten infants in Maharashtra's Bhandara District Hospital. However, seven children from the age of one-day to three months were saved by the firefighters after the severe fire broke out in the Sick Newborn Care Unit (SNCU) of the hospital.
