Roger Federer Confirmed For Australian Open 2021
CEO of Tennis Australia, Craig Tiley, informed, on October 4, that Roger Federer will take part in the Australian Open 2021. According to reports, Federer had encountered a knee injury after the Australian Open 2020 and had to undergo two surgeries, owing to which he was unable to take part in major sporting events. Reportedly, the organizers of the Australian Open have started preparations for the event to be held in January 2021.

Serena Williams Pulls Out Of French Open 2020, Cites Achilles Injury
American tennis player Serena Williams dropped out of the French Open 2020 on September 30 after suffering from an Achilles injury. The 23-time Grand Slam winner announced her exit after advancing to the second round of the event. She had hurt her left Achilles tendon during the semi-finals of the US Open. “I think I need four to six weeks of sitting and doing nothing,” Williams said.

Bianca Andreescu Withdraws From French Open, Eyes 2021 Olympics
Canadian tennis player Bianca Andreescu withdrew from the French Open 2020 on September 23. “I have come to the difficult decision to skip the clay court swing this year,'' said Bianca. The 2019 US Open title winner has not played a match since WTA Finals in Shenzhen last year, where she retired after suffering knee injury. Andreescu shared that she is planning to focus on her practice for 2021, including the Olympics.
