A man found a dead lizard in the coke he ordered at McDonald's in Ahmedabad. Upon complaining to the manager, he "laughed and offered a refund" of Rs 300, instead of taking any action. The INC leader Navjot Singh Sidhu has been appointed as 'munshi' (assistant) for clerical work in the Patiala central prison. Notably, Sidhu has been given one-year imprisonment in a decades-old road rage death case (1988.) However, the new post of "munshi" will be performed from his barrack due to security reasons and will get wages like Rs 40-50, depending upon their skills like semi-skilled, skilled and unskilled.

PM Narendra Modi arrived in Hyderabad to attend the 20th Annual event of the Indian School of Business (ISB) Gachibowli, on May 26. Addressing the students, Modi took a swipe at Telangana CM K Chandrashekar Rao. Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal ordered all the government-run sports facilities to remain functional for athletes till 10 pm. On May 26, Kejriwal reacted to a story of "The Indian Express" with the headline "Stadium is emptied, athletes told to leave so that IAS officer can walk a dog. Notably, Deputy CM of Delhi Manish Sisodia issued an order through tweet, directing all sports facilities to be open till 10 pm.

In Uttarakhand's Kedarnath, four more Pilgrims lost their lives after falling ill, on May 25. Meanwhile, three others have been airlifted to Rishikesh's AIIMS via air ambulance. The deceased have been identified as Rishi Bhadauriya (65), Shambu Dayal Yadav (66), Kamalnath Bhatt (60) and Changdev Janardan Shinde. Reportedly, since May 6, over 38 Pilgrims have died on their way, due to cardiac arrest and other health problems.
India reported 2,628 fresh cases of COVID-19 and 18 fatalities in the last 24 hours, on May 26. A recovery rate of 98.75% has been recorded in the country, taking the total active caseload to 15,414. India's daily positivity rate stands at 0.58% and weekly positivity rate at 0.51%. Furthermore, over 192.82 cumulative doses of COVID vaccine has been administered so far.
Over seven cases have been registered and 42 persons have been detained in connection to the Konaseema violence case, on May 26. The incident occurred on May 24, when locals staged a protest against renaming of the district as BR Ambedkar Konaseema. President of India Ram Nath Kovind along with his wife Savita and daughter Swati reached Kerala on a two-day visit, on May 25. He was received by State Governor Arif Mohammad Khan, Transport Minister Antony Raju, and Mayor Aryan Rajendran. During the visit, President Kovind will inaugurate the two-day National Women Legislators' Conference-2022 at the Sankaranarayanan Thampi, on May 26, following which he will leave for Pune.
