ECI To Take Action Against Registered Unrecognized Party Under RP Act: TN
The Election Commission of India will take action against registered unrecognized political parties in Tamil Nadu, for non-compliance with statutory requirements. The ECI issued a notice dated May 25, and ordered to meet the necessary requirements under the Representation of the People (RP) Act. RLD Chief Jayant Chaudhary Files Rajya Sabha Nomination On Samajwadi Party Ticket
Samajwadi Party Chief Akhilesh Yadav nominated RLD Chief Jayant Chaudhary as the joint candidate for the Rajya Sabha polls. On May 26, Jayant filed his papers after Kapil Sibal and Javed Ali in Lucknow. Notably, the RLD is the constituent party of SP, which formed an alliance against the BJP. Furthermore, the Uttar Pradesh Rajya Sabha elections are scheduled to be held on June 10, announced ECI.

Navjot Singh Sidhu Appointed As Munshi In Patiala Central Jail, Says Official
The INC leader Navjot Singh Sidhu has been appointed as 'munshi' (assistant) for clerical work in the Patiala central prison. Notably, Sidhu has been given one-year imprisonment in a decades-old road rage death case (1988.) However, the new post of "munshi" will be performed from his barrack due to security reasons and will get wages like Rs 40-50, depending upon their skills like semi-skilled, skilled and unskilled.

ED Conducts Raids At Minister Anil Parab's Premises; 7 Locations In Mumbai & Pune Raided
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted raids at seven locations in Pune and Mumbai at the premises of Maharashtra state transport minister Anil Parab, on May 26. The raids were carried out after ED filed a fresh case against alleged irregularities in a land deal in coastal Dapoli area of Ratnagiri district. Notably, Parab has been questioned in the past, in a money laundering probe in connection to Anil Deshmukh.

PM Modi Takes Dig At Telangana Govt, Alleges TRS Of Corruption: Hyderabad
PM Narendra Modi arrived in Hyderabad to attend the 20th Annual event of the Indian School of Business (ISB) Gachibowli, on May 26. Addressing the students, Modi took a swipe at Telangana CM K Chandrashekar Rao. "Our country has seen how corruption becomes the face of those political parties dedicated to one family," said Modi as he accused TRS of corruption. Modi said, BJP leaders are also facing troubles.

Telangana CM KCR Skips PM Modi's Visit In Hyderabad For 2nd Time
Telangana CM K Chandrashekar Rao is going to skip the meeting of PM Narendra Modi in Hyderabad. Notably, on May 26, PM Modi is scheduled to visit Hyderabad for the 20th annual event of IBS. However, CM KCR will miss Modi's visit, as he is traveling to Bengaluru to meet HD Deve Gowda. This is the second time in the past four months that KCR skipped PM Modi's meeting.

Ex MLA PC George Arrested Over Alleged Hate Speech: Kerala
Former MLA PC George has been arrested by Kerala police in an alleged hate speech case, on May 26. Following the arrest, he was shifted from Kochi to Trivandrum, and will be produced before a court. The arrest has come after George's alleged hate speech against Muslims in Anantapuri Hindu Maha Sammelan, on April 30. "I haven't done anything wrong. I have respect for the law," said George.

President Kovind Arrives At Kerala On 2-Day Visit
President of India Ram Nath Kovind along with his wife Savita and daughter Swati reached Kerala on a two-day visit, on May 25. He was received by State Governor Arif Mohammad Khan, Transport Minister Antony Raju, and Mayor Aryan Rajendran. During the visit, President Kovind will inaugurate the two-day National Women Legislators' Conference-2022 at the Sankaranarayanan Thampi, on May 26, following which he will leave for Pune.

ECI Announces By Election Schedule For Delhi's Rajinder Nagar MLA Seat
The Election Commission of India announced by-poll dates for the Rajinder Nagar Assembly seat in Delhi. Notably, after the AAP leader, Raghav Chadha was elected to the Rajya Sabha. He took oath as a Member of Parliament in May and left the MLA seat. Now the elections will be held on June 23, confirmed EC. Besides, Delhi, by-elections will be held in six states.

Mass Protest In Andhra Pradesh Amid Renaming Of Konaseema District
In Andhra Pradesh, a violent protest broke out in Konaseema and its headquartered region Amalapuram on May 24. The mass protestors demanded to retain the original name of Konaseema, which has been recently changed to Dr BR Ambedkar. The situation worsened after a group of people set ablaze the house of an AP Minister in the Konaseema region. Moreover, the police have registered six cases and detained 46 people.
