"Wife-Beater" Case: Johnny Depp's Suit Against UK Newspaper Dismissed

Hollywood actor Johnny Depp on November 2 lost a defamation case to the UK's tabloid 'The Sun'. Depp had sued the newspaper after he was labelled as "wife-beater" following the assault allegations by the actor's ex-wife Amber Heard. In the judgment, a High Court judge upheld the validity of the newspaper's claims. Calling Depp "violent and crazy", Heard claimed he started drinking large volumes of alcohol which made him "abusive".
