Centre Reduces Excise Duty On Petrol By ₹9.5 Per Litre & Diesel By ₹7 Per Litre

Union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman said on May 21 that the Centre has chosen to decrease the national excise duty on petrol by ₹8 per litre and diesel by ₹6 per litre. The measure would lower the price of petrol by ₹9.5 per litre and diesel by ₹7 per litre. "It will have a revenue implication of around ₹1 lakh crore per year for the government," finance minister said.

J&K Allotted Rs 1.42 Lakh Crore Budget By Parliament For FY 2022-23

The parliament has approved a Rs 1.42 lakh crore budget for the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir for the year 2022-23, on March 23. The Jammu and Kashmir Appropriation Bill, 2022 and The Jammu and Kashmir Appropriation (No.2) Bill, 2022 were approved by Lok Sabha on March 14. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that after the abrogation of Article 370, "you see justice reaching" to the residents of J&K.
