"RRR" superstar Ram Charan is headed to the US for Oscars 2023. On February 21, the actor was spotted at the Hyderabad airport and was captured barefoot, as he is following the footsteps of Lord Ayappa. Notably, SS Rajamouli directed "RRR" song "Natu-Natu" has been nominated for the best original song in the 95th Academy Awards, scheduled for March 12. After the Golden Globes win, India have high expectations.

Veteran actor in the Tollywood film industry and former union minister Uppalapati Venkata Krishnam Raju has passed away at the age of 82, in Telangana’s Hyderabad, on September 11. He was admitted to a private hospital following a brief illness, and passed away in the early hours of the day. Reportedly, he is survived by his wife Shyamala Devi and three daughters- Praseedi, Prakeerthi and Pradeepthi. 

South Indian superstar Vijay Deverakonda and Bollywood actress Ananya Pandey's "Liger" hit theatres on August 25. On the day-1 of the Telugu and Hindi film, it fizzled out at the box-office, with Rs 20 to 25 crores in the south market. The Active Telugu Film Producers Guild announced to go on strike, and halt shoot of films, from August 1. The decision was taken by producers of the Telugu film industry, collectively.
