Govt Holds Import Of China Made Wi-fi Modules; Delays New Launches
The Centre has retained the consent to import Wi-Fi modules from China continuing from November. Reportedly, the development halted the launches of US-based Dell and HP and China's Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo, and Lenovo for months. The Wireless Planning and Coordination wing of Communications Ministry has retained the consent indicating PM Modi's nationalist policies as several applications await WPC's assent. According to a source, the move aims to push manufacturing in India.
