Sri Lanka Receives $1 billion Aid From India Amid Economic Crisis
The Indian government has issued USD 1 billion line of credit for Sri Lanka to aid in the import of food, necessary products, and medication. “India has always stood with the people of Sri Lanka and we will continue to extend all possible support at this juncture,'' stated spokesperson Arindam Bagchi. Notably, India had helped Sri Lanka with a USD 500 million line of credit to purchase petroleum products.
