The department seized a record-shattering $3.6bn in bitcoin in a saga that has captivated the internet. The accused, Ilya Lichtenstein, 34, and his wife Heather Morgan, 31, were asked to make their initial appearances in federal court. Notably, they laundered 119,754 Bitcoins and initiated about 2,0000 unauthorised transactions.
