Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant will again be the BJP's candidate from Sanquelim constituency. Notably, the party released the names of 34 MLA candidates on January 20, for the upcoming State elections. State's poll incharge Devendra Fadnavis has said that BJP in Goa ushered in a new era of development in the last 10 years. Former UP CM Mulayam Singh's brother-in-law and SP leader Pramod Gupta and Congress's Priyanka Maurya joined the ruling BJP Government. The two leaders of the oppositions joined the saffron party, in presence of BJP President Swatantra Dev Singh and Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya. Notably, the developments came days ahead of the seven-phased UP Assembly elections for 403 Assembly seats, starting from February 10.
Ahead of Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls, former UP CM Kalyan Singh's grandson Sandeep Singh has filed nomination on January 19, from 73 Atrauli constituency and claimed that BJP will get a majority of 300 seats. "'Babuji' (former CM Kalyan Singh) isn't here today but I'll serve as he guided," Sandeep said to reporters. Sandeep Singh is also the Minister of State for Education. UP elections are scheduled from February 10.
The BJP unit in Uttar Pradesh is all set to contest, UP Assembly elections 2022. On January 19, National President JP Nadda announced NDA alliance between the Apna Dal and Nishad Party, similar to 2019 elections. The details of the alliance was held in the last few days, during a meeting, said JP Nadda during a press conference. Notably, UP elections are being held in seven phases, from February 10.
Ahead of the UP Assembly elections, the BJP unit released star campaigners list, on January 19. The list include PM Narendra Modi, UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Raj Nath Singh and BJP National President JP Nadda. The top 30 star leaders of the BJP will be campaigning for the first phase of the UP elections, scheduled on February 10.

Ahead of Goa Elections, AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal on January 19, announced Amit Palekar as a chief ministerial candidate. "Amit Palekar is an advocate by profession and comes from the Bhandari community," said Kejriwal. AAP will contest elections for all 40 seats in Goa. Apart from the ruling BJP, Congress, TMC, Shiv Sena and other parties are in the field. Notably, the Goa elections are scheduled for February 14.
Farmers union leader Rakesh Tikait, on January 18, denied to support any political party in the upcoming Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections. Ahead of Uttar Pradesh Assembly Polls, Samajwadi Party's former chief Mulayam Singh Yadav's daughter-in-law Aparna Yadav, joined the BJP on January 19. Aparna will contest in elections from Lucknow, said sources. Notably, Aparna contested the 2017 UP election on an SP ticket from Lucknow but was defeated by a BJP candidate. However, she donated Rs 11 lakh for the construction of Ram Mandir and runs an organization named 'BAware'.
AAP Convenor Arvind Kejriwal is going to announce CM candidate for Goa Assembly elections 2022. On January 19, the Delhi CM will visit Panaji and announce the CM Face, for the single phased Goa Assembly elections, scheduled on February 14. Notably, political parties will contest for 70 assembly seats in Goa. With the intensified door-to-door campaign, the AAP is said to be a strong contender for the Assembly elections.
