Karnataka Police Arrest 16 People In Association With 'Death Threat' To Siddaramaiah
Police reported on August 20 that sixteen individuals had been detained in connection with a death threat received by state Opposition Leader Siddaramaiah. "9 people have been arrested in Kushalnagar and 7 in Madikeri, all of whom will be produced before the magistrate court," stated the Kodagu Superintendent Capt Aiyappa MA. The arrests came after the Congress leader got death threats as a result of his statements against Veer Savarkar.

Rajya Sabha Adjourned Sine Die Amid Uproar From Opposition MPs
The Rajya Sabha was adjourned sine die, after repeated uproar of the opposition MPs, on December 22. Chairman Venkaiah Naidu, adjourned the session and said, Winter Session concludes today with much below business, reported ANI. Initially, the session was scheduled to end on December 23, however due to constant uproar of opposition over suspension of 12 MPs, the Winter Parliament Session was adjourned a day ahead.

Russian Opposition Leader and Putin Critic in ICU after Suspected Poisoning
Alexei Navalny, a Russian politician and critic of Vladimir Putin's Government, is in intensive care at a Siberian hospital after alleged poisoning. On August 20 morning, while on a plane to Moscow, Navalny’s health deteriorated after having tea at the airport, leading to an emergency landing. “We assume that Alexei was poisoned with something mixed into his tea. It was the only thing that he drank,” his spokesperson stated.
