New Committee Will Look Into Withdrawal Of AFSPA: Nagaland Govt

The Nagaland Government on December 26, announced to constitute a new committee, to look into the withdrawal of Armed Forces Special Power Act (AFSPA). The decision was taken after a recent meeting with the Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Notably, 13 civilian were killed in Mon district, following which citizens demanded to repeal AFSPA. The panel "will submit its report in 45 days", said the government in an official statement.
