Assam To Soon Have NCDC Unit In Rani Region, Says Minister Keshab Mahanta
The Assam Government announced National Centre for Disease Control unit at Rani, Kamrup Metropolitan district. On July 22, Assam State Minister Keshab Mahanta confirmed the development, saying land, adjoining the community health centre at Rani in West Guwahati has been selected and directed the officials to complete the necessary formalities. Assam Govt Orders Probe To Inquire Death & Firing In Darrang
Following the death of two civilians and injury to several others, including policemen, the Assam Government has initiated a judicial probe into the matter. The scuffle between the personnel and the people in the Darrang district Dhalpur area broke out following the police launched an anti-encroachment drive on September 23.
