India's '1st World Cup 1983 Hero' Yashpal Sharma Dies At 66

Yashpal Sharma, known for his best performances in India's first World Cup win in 1983, has died in Noida on July 13, at 66 years of age. Reportedly, Sharma went for a morning walk but succumbed to a heart attack after returning. The right-handed batsman played 37 test matches and 42 ODIs scoring 1606 runs and 883 runs respectively. Sharma scored 89 runs, in the 1983 World Cup.
