The Union on May 1 announced T Rabi Sankar as the new Deputy Governor of the RBI. Currently executive director in-charge of payments and settlement, Sankar is appointed for three years. Besides being member of various committees, he was member of RBI’s committees on cost of funds based lending system, spot and derivatives market. M.Phil in economics, Sankar was also part of working group of Banking of International Settlement.
