PM Modi To Inaugurate 296 Km Bundelkhand Expressway In Uttar Pradesh's Jalaun

PM Modi is scheduled to inaugurate the Bundelkhand Expressway in Uttar Pradesh's Jalaun district, on July 16. The Expressway will be inaugurated at Kaitheri village in Orai Tehsil. Reportedly, the work which commenced on February 29, 2020 has been completed within 28 months. The 296 km four-lane Expressway has been constructed at a cost Rs 14,850 crore.

UP Cuts Over 1.8L Trees For Bundelkhand Expressway, To Plant 2.7L Trees

The Uttar Pradesh Expressway Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA), in a reply to an RTI, has stated that it will plant over 2.70 lakh saplings along the Bundelkhand expressway. The exercise is aimed at compensating the loss of 1,89,036 tress, which were cut for the construction of the 296-km-long expressway. The expressway is expected to provide better connectivity between the Bundelkhand area of the state and the NCR.
