CM Mamata Banerjee To Survey Flood-hit Areas In Bengal

West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee will conduct an aerial survey of Ghatal in Paschim Medinipur district that is affected due to an "unnatural" flood on August 10. A day before, Banerjee also surveyed the areas of Udaynarayanpur and Jhargram districts and blamed the Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) for releasing ''excessive water'' from its dams. Reportedly, around 23 people have died so far and many people have had to abandon their homes.

Mamata Banerjee Meets Leaders In Delhi, Says 'Visit Was Successful'

Following her four-day visit to Delhi, West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee returned to Kolkata on July 30, saying ''The visit was successful''. Bengal Extends Covid-19 Restrictions Till August 15; Night Curfew To Continue

Covid-19 restrictions in West Bengal have been extended till August 15, as per the Executive Community of West Bengal Disaster Management Authority. The night curfew would continue from 9 PM to 5 AM with the exception of emergency and essential services. Press release by the state government urged citizens across the state to maintain Covid protocols like wearing masks and maintaining social distancing.

West Bengal Extends Lockdown; Govt Mandates E-Passes For Travelling

Amid the escalating cases of COVID-19, the West Bengal government has extended the lockdown till July 1. Earlier, the lockdown curfew was expected to be lifted by June 15. However, certain relaxations will be bestowed and e-passes will be required to travel. Besides, the sports activity will be resumed and educational institutions, gyms, beauty parlour, salons and cinema halls will remain closed.

Mamata Writes To PM; Seeks Withdrawal Of Order Recalling Chief Secretary

Seeking cancellation of order recalling state chief secretary Alapan Bandyopadhyay, West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee penned down to PM Narendra Modi. CM Mamata wrote, "I sincerely hope latest order is not related to my meeting with you at Kalaikunda". Scheduled to retire on May 31, Bandyopadhyay was granted a three-month extension on May 24. However, on May 28, the Centre asked Bengal to “relieve Bandyopadhyay with immediate effect.”

West Bengal Class 12, 10 Board Exams Likely To Happen In July, August

The Bengal government on May 27 postponed the approximate dates for class 10 and 12 board exams to July and August. CM Mamata Banerjee announced that grade 12 and 10 board exams will be conducted in July last week and August second week respectively. However, while the exact dates are yet to be announced by the board, the exams will be held in home centres and only for compulsory subjects.

West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee on May 10 announced her 43-member cabinet including nine women. Mamata Banerjee Request For Calm After 12 Killed In Post-Result Violence
