Karnataka Education Minister: 30 Engineering Institutions To Be Upgraded To Global Standards

Educational Institutions To Resume Offline Classes From Feb 14: J&K

In the view of the declining COVID-19 cases, Jammu & Kashmir administration on February 13, has decided to resume offline classes for universities and colleges from February 14. "All Universities, Polytechnics, ITI's shall commence routine offline teaching," the guidelines stated. However, schools in the winter and summer zone will open in a phased manner from February 14 and February 28.

100 Students At Patiala Medical College Test COVID-19 Positive: Punjab

At least 100 students at Govt Medical College, Patiala, tested COVID-19 positive, on January 4. To curb the spread of the virus, students were asked to vacate hostels. UP Govt To Reopen School, Colleges And Universities

Considering the decline of COVID-19 cases, Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath has approved the decision to reopen schools for class 12 students with 50% capacity in the state from August 16. Moreover, the CM also allowed the reopening of colleges and universities from September 1. Yogi government has directed universities and colleges to begin their entrance exams from August 5.

Engineering Seats In Indian Colleges Hit Lowest In 10 Years

India has witnessed a decline in engineering college seats, the lowest in 10 years with institutes applying for closure since 2015-16 and a cutback in capacity throughout. According to the All India Council for Technical Education's latest data, there are only 23.28 lakh total seats in UnderGraduate, PostGraduate, and diploma programs currently. However, engineering still makes up for 80% of the total seats in technical education.
